Yesterday we put out an appeal for witnesses to a road rage incident on the A1035, some of the information provided was incorrect and we would like to correct this and re-appeal for witnesses.
We are appealing for witnesses following an assault on A1035 Hull Bridge Road at the junction with Swinemoor Lane, Beverley between 4pm and 4.25pm on Saturday 15 April.
A white Skoda Superb, driven by a 61 year-old Beverley man, was travelling along the A1035 from White Cross roundabout towards Beverley. He was passed by three large motorcycles who were overtaking between oncoming traffic. The driver sounded the horn as he thought the manoeuvre unsafe.
A further two miles down the road ahead of the junction of Swinemoor Lane, a grey Skoda which was travelling in front of the Superb pulled over and caused the driver stop behind him. A man driving the grey Skoda got out of his car and approached the Superb, he hit the driver’s side window with a metal bar. The Superb driver then opened his window to challenge the aggressor and was struck in the face with the metal bar causing a broken nose. The suspect then drove away from the scene.
Officers investigating the incident would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and they are urged to call 101 quoting crime reference number 2264642.
