£50k sheep theft

Melton Ross: 400 lambs and 200 sheep taken from field

Thieves have stolen sheep to the value of £50,000 from a farm near Melton Ross, off the A18, between 7pm on Tuesday, June 2 and 7.15am on Wednesday, June 3.

The offenders forced open a gate to a field on the left side of the A18, heading away from Barnetby Top, making off with approximately 200 sheep and 400 lambs.

Loose horse causes £2.5k damage

North Cave: Appeal to trace owners of animals

Can you help to trace the owners of a horse that caused £2,500 of damage after running into a car whilst loose on the B1230 North Cave?

The animal was injured in the incident, which happened just after 4.30pm on Saturday, May 23. However, as the owner has not been traced, the condition of the animal is not known.

Residents have been warned to be vigilant about home security after a thief snuck into an unlocked home as the occupant slept upstairs.

The burglary happened at a detached property in Lichfield Close, Beverley, at 12.30am on Tuesday June 2.

Arsonist destroys caravan

Driffield: Can you identify man captured on CCTV?

Can you help trace a suspected arsonist who set fire to a caravan parked on the driveway of a house in St John’s Road, Driffield?

A suspect was captured on CCTV running from the scene of the fire, which caused almost £2,000 of damage to the semi-detached house, the neighbouring property, a shed and Cross Hill school’s fence.

Break-in at Beverley business

Beverley: Help police find stolen tools

A significant amount of cash, tools and boilers were stolen from commercial premises in a remote area of Beverley.

The break-in happened at a large industrial complex, split into a number of units, between 5.30pm on Saturday, May 30 and 7.20am on Monday, June 1.

Unknown offender(s) used force to enter the premises, where they made an untidy search. A safe was also broken into.

Sheep killed

Goole: Help Identify Thieves and Prevent Rural Crime

Humberside Police were called by a resident of Main Street in Gowdall, Goole after four sheep had been stolen from their farm and the owner subsequently found the skins discarded in the field on Saturday May 23.

Officers have made enquiries into this incident but as yet no suspect has been identified.

Man assaulted

Cleethorpes: Man injured in assault at junction

Police are investigating an assault which took place just after 7pm on May 22 on the corner of George Street and Richmond Road in Cleethorpes.

A 23-year-old man suffered superficial cuts to his chest in the incident from a bladed instrument used by the suspect who grabbed the victim from behind.

The victim defended himself and the suspect left the scene on a pedal cycle.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery inside the men’s toilets at the McDonald’s restaurant on Victoria Street, Grimsby at around 10.55am on Monday May 25. A 16-year-old boy was in the toilets when an unknown man demanded he hand over his wallet before attempting to punch him. The boy managed to run off. The boy had no injuries and the wallet was not stolen.

Two Tandem racing bikes stolen

Bilton: Appeal to find stolen bikes and identify those responsible

Humberside Police are investigating the burglary of a summerhouse on Dawney Road in Bilton.  Intruders broke into the garage at the rear of the house between 10pm May 20 and 5am May 21.  Two tandem bikes were stolen.  The bikes are described as a blue/green metallic tandem racing bike and a bright yellow tandem with black mudguards.

Serious Collision

Market Weighton: Appeal for witnesses following serious collision involving a bus and a cyclist on Holme Road.

Emergency services attended to a road traffic collision between a red single decker bus and cyclist at 1pm yesterday, May 27.

The bus and cyclist were both travelling along Holme Road in the direction towards Market Weighton.
