House fire on Beverley Road

Hull: A joint investigation into the cause will take place

We were called by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service at 6.23am today (Friday 10 March) requesting assistance with road closures following a serious house fire and subsequent explosion on Beverley Road, Hull.

A man from the property has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Three fire officers are believed to have sustained minor injuries.

Young people from across Humberside complete the Night Challenge

Last Saturday (4 March) over 120 young people put on their walking boots and headed out to tackle our Night Challenge.

The teams began arriving at Brantingham Park from about 4pm. Here they got geared up, had some food and were briefed on what was to come. They then headed out, in 15 minute intervals, to begin the 13 mile hike through the treacherous terrain of Brantingham Dale.

We are releasing the CCTV stills of a victim and two witnesses to a unreported robbery in Grimsby on Sunday 26 February.

They are being urged to call us on 101 after a man was implicated for the incident.

Man injured in collision

A 38 year-old man was seriously injured on Bodmin Road / Bude Road in Hull at around 4am on 25 February.

The man suffered multiple fractures to his body in what is thought to be a hit and run collision.  He had left the Sutton Fields Pub, on Sutton Road, at around 1230am, and was found by a member of the public over three hours later with serious injuries and disorientated.

Man dies of his injuries following collision

A pedestrian that was seriously injured in a collision with a car on John Newton Way, Hull, has died of his injuries.

The 31-year-old man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary following a collision at around 5.30pm on Thursday 2 March.  He remained in a critical condition until today when he passed away.

Bomb hoax at Highlands Primary School

Hull: Believed to be part of a number of national reports

We were called at 10.39am this morning (Wednesday 8 March) by Highlands Primary School, Lothian Way, Hull reporting that they had received a bomb threat at the school.

As a precaution the Head Teacher has decided to evacuate the school.

At this time the incident is believed to be a Hoax and part of a series of similar incidents at schools across the country.

Serious road traffic collision

Grimsby: Any witnesses call 101

At 3.59am today (Thursday 8  March) a black Vauxhall Insignia was in a serious road traffic collision on Chelmsford Avenue, Grimsby.

Both the occupants allegedly tried to resist arrest, before being arrested on suspicion of car theft and driving offences.

Appeal for taxi driver to come forward

Hull: If you were the driver please call us

We’re trying to locate the driver of a taxi - believed to be a dark coloured Hackney Carriage - after a woman fell from the vehicle at shortly before 1am on Sunday 5 March on Newland Avenue, Hull.

The woman crossed the road and got in to the back of the taxi, but fell out as the car moved off and suffered minor head injuries. The taxi driver failed to stop following the incident.

Shed fire on Betula Court

Hull: Call 101 if you witnessed the incident

Investigations are underway after a shed was burgled and set alight on Betula Court, Hull around 7.30am on Thursday 2 March.

It is reported that a child’s bike and various tools were stolen and substantial damage was caused to the outside of the house, the shed and its contents.

No one was hurt in the incident.

TWO MISSING CHILDREN FOUND WITHIN 30 MINUTES

Holme on Spalding Moor: High risk missing people are a priority for the police

Yesterday evening (Monday 6 March) we received a call reporting two girls (aged 3 and 4) missing in Holme on Spalding Moor.

The parents clearly distressed, reported that the girls had wandered off while playing and despite their best efforts they couldn’t find them.

Help us locate stolen jewellery

Laceby: Any information call 101.

We are appealing for witnesses following a burglary on Cooper Lane, Laceby between 8.30am and 5.15pm on Thursday 19 January.

An unknown offender broke into the property and stole a burgundy leather jewellery box containing numerous items of jewellery with an estimated value of £3000.

Woman saved from the sea at North Pier

Bridlington: A member of the public, two PCSOs and two police officers were involved in the daring rescue.

We were called at around 6.25pm on Saturday 4 March with reports of a 40-year-old woman threatening to jump into the sea close to the Promenade in Bridlington.
